I am a veteran ed specialist and teach several courses at the graduate level to new special education teachers- this is the only book I recommend. I hope a new edition comes out soon. This is clear and helpful. It includes a reference to all the laws and legal requirements we need to know and has valuable instructional strategies by disability and by topic in a quick easy to access format. I have purchased several books with similar titles- this is the only one I give to all my new teachers. THANK YOU! This is an excellent reference book for a first year SPED teacher. It was really easy to follow and reference specific information. I think it will be really helpful through my first year. Had some great suggestions for communicating to parents and GenEd teachers. It also has tons of SPED website to find more information. I think it was well worth the money. I will try and do an update after using it my first year to comment on how often I used it.
